Creating a Healthier Planet
World Food Crisis
With the global population set to hit 10 billion by 2050, and with 77% of land today being used to raise livestock that accounts for only 17% of human consumption, changing the conversation surrounding food today is critical to maintaining global food security tomorrow. We hold that taking advantage of any and every opportunity to implement cost-effective, sustainable, and nutritional food sourcing is essential to providing not only enough calories, but also a balanced diet for everyone.
Our unique farming method is a testament to our innovation and pushes us to the forefront of the handful of other automated farming companies.
Crickets require 26 times less water than cattle. If we were to sell just 1000 pounds of cricket as a substitute to the American diet for 1000 pounds of beef, we would save the environment 2.4 million gallons of water, 6 acres of land, and more than 5 tons of grain.
Mitigating CO2 Damage
Sticking to the previous comparison, a 1,000 pound cattle-for-cricket substitution we would prevent nearly 7 tons of CO2 production.
Current agricultural practices are harming the environment. Moving towards more insect-based protein will help fight off carbon dioxide damage.
